Privacy notice
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information I collect through philkerby.com, why I collect it, and what rights you have over it. I keep it short because I collect very little.
Who I am
This website is run by Phil Kerby, a sole trader based in Guildford, Surrey. I am the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me about privacy using the contact form or by emailing privacy@philkerby.com.
What I collect
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, organisation, the service you're interested in and your message.
When you book a call: your name, email address, the time you choose and your answers to the booking questions. Bookings are handled by Cal.com, and the booking calendar on the contact page is provided by Cal.com.
When you visit the site: my hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as your IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the site running. I don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why I use it
I use your details only to reply to your enquiry, arrange and hold our call, and, if we decide to work together, prepare a proposal. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. I will never sell your information or add you to a mailing list without your permission.
Who else handles it
I use a small number of trusted services to run the site and my business. They process your information on my behalf and only as I instruct:
- Netlify, which hosts this website and delivers contact form messages to me
- Cal.com, which manages call bookings
- IONOS, which provides my business email
Some of these providers store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long I keep it
If we don't go on to work together, I delete enquiries and booking details within 12 months. If you become a client, I keep relevant records for as long as the law requires, for example six years for financial records.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- restrict or object to how I use it
- pass your information to another organisation
To make a request, email privacy@philkerby.com or use the contact form. I'll respond within one month. There's no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If I change how I use personal information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
